There is an interesting episode in Alice in Wonderland. Alice approaches a fork in the road and sees a cat on a tree. She inquires as to which road she should take. The cat asks Alice about her destination. When Alice replies that she is uncertain, the cat asks her as to how does it matter which road she takes.
