ajconsulting is a budding and hungry HR consulting firm founded by a hard core HR professional with hands-on experience of managing the HR function for various organisations in different verticals over a career spanning more than 33 years. Navigating enough and more real-life issues during this time, we have come to understand what organisations undergo in real-time situations. Every organisation is different, every issue is unique, and the solutions have to be thought through and co-created, with a clear implementation strategy before launch.

Nothing comes easy, there are no pre-determined answers; together with the client organisation, we strive to maximise the returns on the effort and finances put in to take the client organisation forward. The results are not solely for the sake of enriching the HR agenda, while this helps, but to make a positive impact on business outcomes.

We present objective solutions to real issues, or help in an organisation’s efforts to enable them to be better tomorrow than they are today – all with grounded support and co-creation of solutions.

Ajay Chowdhury

An alumnus of Hindu College, Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Ajay Chowdhury is a people person who has a way of reaching out to the hearts and minds of his colleagues. With an MBA degree in Human Resources from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, Ajay sincerely believes in the triad of capability development, ethics, and joy at the workplace.
With over 33 years of rich and varied work experience Ajay started his professional career from the public sector steel behemoth SAIL in 1991, where he learnt the basics of handling different kinds of HR and IR related issues typical of any manufacturing entity. In the ensuing period, he moved on to leadership positions in HR at various levels in different organisations such as IIS Infotech, Birlasoft, Fidelity, Hutch, and Dell.
He also worked in the UK for three years that further honed his international and cross-cultural people management skills. He spent two years in the entrepreneurial space, where he offered HR services to clients in the SME segment on a time-share basis, among other ventures connected to capability development.
At SRF since 2010, and in the CHRO role for more than eleven years, his priority was to build strengthen an efficient, process-driven, business aligned, value driven, issue based, employee-care centred HR function that other organisations would like to emulate.
From chasing designations and roles to now chasing her dreams at ajconsulting, Joshita Tandon brings 18 years of rich experience in human resources, specializing in building and optimizing organizational structures, HR strategies, compensation frameworks, and talent analytics for large, multi-business enterprises, while also helping start-ups establish strong HR systems.
She has held multiple leadership roles at SRF Limited and Asahi India Glass Limited before making the decision to help other organizations optimize their HR function.
She has demonstrated expertise in strategic HR, including performance management and senior level assessments, people policies, organization design, leadership hiring, succession planning, HR analytics, HR technology, DEI, and organisation-wide OD and culture building initiatives.
An MBA medal holder with additional institutional recognition for academic excellence, Joshita is an alumnus of La Martiniere Girls’ College, Lucknow and Lucknow University. She has further honed her skills through executive programs in HR Analytics (XLRI) and Art of Leadership (IIM Kozhikode), and holds certifications in SHL’s OPQ and Hay/Korn Ferry job evaluation methodology.
